Colorado Eastern - Trestle Approaches
Step one was to build cribbing on the left side. It is very easy to construct, as it consists of 1/2" square strips of wood nailed together at 90 degree angles. This particular piece of cribbing is approximately 16" long, 8" wide and about 10" tall, using the strip-wood provided by Paul's Trains at www.gardenrr.com.

PROJECT DATE: 11/23/03

On the right hand side I decided to use a rock wall on the outside of the layout and a timber retaining wall on the inside. Once again I used the extra strip wood provided with the trestle - Thanks Paul!

You can see that the trestle and the retaining wall are in place and ready for final fill, roadbed and track.
