The
Cape Cod Northern: Introduction & Design
I am very excited
and pleased to introduce the Cape Cod Northern. This is an O Scale plan
that was specifically designed to fit in a large basement, with a
dedicated layout space of approximately 28' x 12'. The parameters were
that it had to have at least two main lines, lots and lots of track,
tunnels, bridges, tons of switching opportunities and 54" minimum
radius curves. It had to fit the modern era, featuring intermodal loading
and unloading as well an engine servicing facility including a turntable.
It also had to fit around 5 structural support columns and every place on
the layout had to be reachable from an aisle or external access point. Also, the layout owner has
